Contreras Inked for $87.5 Million

The St. Louis Cardinals have agreed to a five-year, $87.5 million contract with free-agent catcher Willson Contreras, ending the tenure of longtime Cardinals' backstop Yadier Molina after 18 seasons in St. Louis

The deal, which includes an $18.5 million signing bonus, will pay Contreras $10 million in 2023, $18 million in each of the following three years, and $18.5 million in 2027.
