4.1 Magnitude Earthquake Triggers Tsunami Warnings

Immediate Response and Damage Assessment
In the immediate aftermath of the earthquake, authorities issued tsunami warnings for coastal areas of the Sea of Japan, including Ishikawa, Fukui, and Niigata prefectures. Residents in these areas were advised to evacuate to higher ground. According to the JMA, tsunami waves of up to 30 centimeters were recorded in some coastal areas. However, no significant damage or casualties were reported as a result of the tsunami.
