Mariners' Julio Rodríguez makes great defensive play, then gets thrown out at home

Seattle's Julio Rodríguez threw out Oakland's Seth Brown at the plate to end the 6th inning of Saturday's game.

In the bottom of the 6th inning against the Oakland Athletics, Seattle Mariners' Julio Rodríguez made a great defensive play, but then got thrown out at home.

Rodriguez was playing center field when Oakland's Seth Brown hit a single to left-center field. Brown tried to advance to second on the throw, but Rodriguez threw him out at second base. However, later in the inning, Rodriguez tried to score from second on a single to right field, but was thrown out at home by Oakland's right fielder.

The Mariners went on to win the game 6-2.
